Ms. Becky, "US Nt. 2006 Selected Games and Positions" will be done in the most covince way for ACF and contributors  I am not involve in details to the very end, and perhaps you can address your question to Alan Millhone and/or Dr. Richard Beckwith.

I had prepared an electronic PDF file (still under verification) and willing to send it to Alan Millhone and Richard Beckwith in the next few days. Then ACF will print it / bound or whatsoever / deliver.

Jim Loy was another book editor who professionally reviewed the whole contest and made many minor and couple medium level corrections / additions & giving the proper references and credits, which made the whole text more clear and easy to read and understand !

Thanks, Jim !

I am thinking about an option some day later (maybe after years) include this 80-pages work in one of my future books and give it longer life. Whoever buy this book today for $15 only can get a great deal !

Respectfully,

 Alex unless the ACF has come into some kind of windfall recently, that I don't know about, I would say that this publication is definately "underpriced"; not only for all of the work that you put into it, but also for the cost of having it published, bound and sent out. I don't know who set the price of $15, but I do know that for years we donated $20 just to receive a couple of pages of the 50 Select Games. Perhaps the ACF is feeling the "Christmas Holiday Spirit" this year? "Merry Christmas" "Inky"

It wasn't my fault or ACF  Price $15 was set originally, back to June after National, before I started. I planned "to select" games only and maybe slightly to say something. However when I started - it was absolutely impossible for me just stay away of all these beauties, deep analysing etc.

Checkers is an ocean and I am in small boat in the middle of it !

This process took 100% of my attention and instead 3-4 paper pages eventually it became a very serious and fine professional work with volume of 80 pages. Even more worse - there were much more than just 50 games only, worthy to annotate and publish, and I added the second chapter here - "Selected Positions" which includes 36 more positions.

By any consideratin this must be considered as book, however the price $15 don't allow us (ACF) to do alot of normal things such as bounding etc, which is a quite expansive.

So ... Merry Christmas to you and wish you have wonderful time by reading your "Selected ..." copy if you ordered it. It will be one of the most strange publications in checkers literature :D

I still hope - maybe ACF will be able to find a possibility to make it as booklet

Alex

Per my conversations with Jim Loy, we plan to use these materials from "Selected ..." in future ACFB publications.
