Cheating With Secret Signs
Re: Cheating With Secret Signs
That must have been my old computer. This one chooses 9-13 with a winning score, in about 3 to 4 minutes. Mr. Sutton left published play in BC at the earlier 27-24. And my old computer never found 9-13, but now that move is much easier to find. Oh well.
Re: Cheating With Secret Signs
No the 913 is fine.........but it doesnt win with the proper waiter played

The odd thing abt this Jim is after a 30sec search it gives the right mv but if a 1-2 min search gives the losing move. Rare things comp progs!.

Re: Cheating With Secret Signs
From the ACFB:
William Carter is planning to restart the various ACF mail play ladders, and add an email ladder. Please contact him (P.O. Box 701, Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, Canada AOM 1CO) if you would (or might) like to play on one or more ladders.
Look in the ACFB for his email address, or I can email it to you.

Sad news this side of the water with news of the untimely death (Fri)of one of our local regular Master players Danny Quigley (Jr) of Derry City.
Danny and his father Danny (Sr) who died a few years ago were the hub of draughts in Derry City for many years.
Dannys sudden death at such an early age has shocked us all since its only last Mon/Tue that we competed in our local Tys together .Id say he was nt much more than in his late forties, our thoughts are with his young family at present. R.I.P.

Re: Cheating With Secret Signs
Hi Alex,
I have no idea what you are referring to at Prague & Stonehaven. Perhaps if you can Email me with this information?.
Can I also draw your attention to your statement: "I already proposed WCDF motion about pairing in earlier rounds (1-2) among players from the same country, but noone paid attention to my arguments".
It seems that you are not as informed at you make out or you would know that in all WQT's that players representing an organisation must be paired against eachother in the 1st Round. I might also point out that the WCDF have never received any motion to which you refer. Hugh.

Re: Cheating With Secret Signs
Hello, Hugh !
I don't have have any intention to develop this. Jan Mortimer just said that there is no cheating in checkers, and I mentioned that this is certainly not true from my prospevtive. It was illegal agreement among players in WQT in Prague and British Open in Stoneheaven. Thats all.
Unfortunately I don't have as evidents a tape with recorded conversation or signed contract about illegal agrement
You can trust this or not, WCDF can do any further investigation, but I don't have anything more to say.
The rule which you mentioned (about pairing) wasn't apply in Prague.
And as part of this problem, I propose WCDF to use the same rule FMJD has: one country - one organisation. You can consider this as motion.
Concerning "illegal agreement" ... I propose to include in BY-LAWS some article / paragraph about prohibited things / illegal agreements / etc. and sanctions. I think 5-10 years disqualification is not a big punishment and maybe enough for the first time.
Sincerely,
Alex Moiseyev

kiwinurse wrote:what you mean" illegal agreement." About what?
Jan, this means - Intentional lost when one player agrees to lose the game / round to another player in order to give the second player more points and chance to win 1st / 2nd / 3rd place etc.
This also can be done in order to help someone to achieve the norm of master / grandmaster / etc
Sometimes the scheme of cheating is more complicated and more than two players involve: "A' lose "B" and "B lose "C".
Perhaps the people who did this thought that they are smart enough or it was never done before and nobody will ever know. Unfortunately - nothing new under the sun and all this *** is well known for many decades to many people.

If you know about this happening at Prague or Stonehaven Alex, then surely its your duty as World Champeon to report this to the WCDF or pursuade the ones that informed you to report it.I personally dont know of this happening at Prague, but thats not to say it didnt happen.
