THE TENNESSEE OPEN CHECKER TOURNAMENT 2007
Hello Everyone:
I just now reserved my room for the upcoming March 2-4, 2007 Tennessee Tournament. Mr. Davis has gotten a new location at the America's Best Value Inn and Suites in Lebanon, Tn. The Inn is located on Highway 231 (822 Cumberland Street) near I-40. You can call for reservation at: 1-615-449-5991. I just now called and reserved my room for the tournament and looking forward to seeing old friends and hopefully new faces as well there. I will bring along some 8th. International books if anyone wants to see one and perhaps purchase one. I am sure Mr. Alex will have copies of SIXTH as well to sell. Rooms at the Inn are $42.00 plus tax. See you there in March !
Sincerely:
Alan Millhone, President

Hello Patrick;
I don't know all the details on why the tourney was moved but know the playing room became too small to hold all the players. Yes, room rates are also less at the new location. Two players can share a room for about $25.00 each per night.
I will bring copies of 8th. Int. along to sell.

Now and now only now !
Today (and only today) I've got a final approval of my manager to go to TN on Friday and use this day as "approved absent", not as regular vacation day. This is certanly a wonderful news which allow me to play without missing an extremely valuable vacation days and achieve my goals this year - play 3 move WCM and have exhibition tour to Ireland in the fall.
As part of this puzzle WCM will be play over Memorial Day at the end of May and I am taking a family vacation in the first week of July.
The rumors reached my ears that Ron King is coming to TN ty this weekend and it is appeared like it's not a joke.
Suki certainly needs some 3-move practice due to the upcoming match, but it might be a bit expensive deal for him.
Sincerely,
Alex Moiseyev

Tennessee Update
Hello Everyone:
Got my new Acer laptop in my room, kind of nice to have internet access on the road
55 here for the tournament and nice well lit playing room. One player here from England and one from Mexico. Newspaper here yesterday doing photos, etc.
Mr. Alex in the lead. We played 2 rounds last night and begin at 8 this morning for a long day of 4 rounds. Lots of books for sale and I am getting some new members and collecting dues for the ACF.
Frank and Mary Davis doing their usual excellent job of running the tournament.
Ron King did not show as someone thought he might......................
Gene Ellison and Howard Hoover here from Illinois playing and will tally the ballots today and certify new ACF Officers. Bobby Rice is also assisting them in vote counting and certification.
More updates late tonight if I am not too tired.
