"Should the ACF Have the Right"?

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 To infringe on the enjoyment and fun its members are having playing checkers by injecting computer analysis and review into the game while it is still in progress? ACF members expect and have a right to enjoy playing a traditional game of checkers (from start to finish) against a human opponent--the outcome of which is determined strictly by those individuals skill and knowledge of the game--nothing else. Perhaps the ACF should expand its programs to include the American Computer Checker Federation (ACCF), which would allow computer analysis and review to take place during its games. Food for thought!! "Inky"

Dear Ms. Becky

I'm confused. My other post (done merely to gather opinions and is not the final say) has no intent of injecting a program verdict until a game is declared out of time (no more moves from both players). It is analogous to the "NFL instant replay rule" to get the call right after a completed play. I don't recall any proposal of computer analysis applied to a game in progress (which would basically be modern mail play).

I do welcome your previous comment about respecting traditional ways and human decisions.
