"A Moment in Time to Remember"

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 The date--April 11th, 1973. My checkerboard and checkers sat idle that day. The night before we had slept on the floor (on dog pillows) at our pet store here in the shopping mall--listening to the dogs howl all night long. The next day only 5 store managers made it out to the mall and fortunately for us one of those was from Walgreens, so we had a few snacks to munch on. For the rest of that day we all sat around playing cards because we definately were not going anywhere. What was happening you may be wondering? Well outside mother nature was sharing a blizard with us, which when it was over left 19 inches of snow on the ground; virtually shutting down the whole town that day and for several days thereafter. Today--April 11th, 2007 it is again snowing heavily bringing back those memories from a time long long ago. "Inky"
