Has the venue for this event been decided yet and is there a list of confirmed participants?

This is the last list I saw:

E. Bruch
J. Morrison
M. Holmes
C. Nash
R. Beckwith
J. Schwartz
J. Francis
S. Thrane

W. Wolverton
K. Willis

Looks like Jack Francis, me and a bunch of yankees :)

I heard rumors that L. Edwards is thinking seriously now  He can approve (or disapprove) these rumors. My situation will be more clear in July - August. I may join QT last minute if WCDF allow me to do this.

Dave,

Sune and Jan have listed all the nominations so far received.

The Executive Board of the WCDF have ruled that the closing date for nominations is 1 July.

Also that associations must have paid their affiliation fees for 2007 before they can nominate.

Alex, You will need to find an association who will nominate you. It has to be an association of which you are one of their players. Both ACF and ICHF have used up all their nominations.

Dave, Have you decided whether you will represent the EDA?

John - if necessity arise, I will be asking for endorsement from WCDF.

Does WCDF have any bid for the 3-move World Title Match this year ? Deadline was October 1st, 2006, and since then (and before) no bids were made. It was non-official preliminary announcement that we may have bid on Barbados, but so far - this is unporved rumors only.

Due to my vacation situation, I can play this year only in one event - 3-move World Title Match or GAYP QT. But I can't sit and wait the whole year - if there is any bid here or not.

Because I didn't hear anything from WCDF - I didn't ask my manager about end of May vacation, and now it's over. Match can be play in September 2007, as earlierst time.

It is WCDF responsibility to cut this magic loop and tell me where I can (should) play - World Title Match or Qualify Tournament.

I also have an option - skip QT and play in US National in July or spend an extra week with my family. Everything in hands of WCDF now.

I set deadline for WCDf now - July 1st. Before this time I would like to know exactly situation with 3-move World Title Match.

If WCDF fail to perform it's duties - I will make decision on my own.

===========================================================

Actually, everything is not too bad  I spoke with Suki in 2006, and he said that he will accept my Independent Challenge for the GAYP title, if prise fund will be "too good to refuse" :D This might be an option in 2008 if I don't have a chance to play in GAYP QT this year.

Tommy, if there is any frustration in my post - this is only due to uncertaincy of situation.

I did receive recently email from WCDF authority, where he asked me about match: "Alex, any news ?" Fantastic !!! This is exactly the question I wanted to ask them :D

Lets hope together.

Hi Alex,
I will not be playing in the qualifiers as I am not good enough to do so. With failing health I will not be playing a great deal longer. I will play in the English Open this May but am only doing so to make up the numbers.

Lindus, I am sorry to hear this, but I can't criticize you for such hard decision. Fighting for the World Title is jungle  and you must be up to everything - skills and playing form as well as phisical and psychological form. I know very well - health conditions play extremely important role in tournaments, and even more - in matches,

Good luck to you and others in English Open, it's a good one ! Remember - your WCDF rating is close to GM

Thank you Alex. You are definitely right of course about health having a role in one's playing standard. I think Newell Banks used to run a lot to keep fit in his earlier years as a player.
I believe that the world qualifiers this year will be particularly hard with so many fine players entering. The best of luck to them all.

You are just too modest Lindus and more than capable of beating us all.Thankyou for your good wishes, but my wishes would be that you were there, showing us all how to play.

Many thanks for your kind words Jan. This year's event will be a great one for sure. I was so glad to hear you will be playing along with Kim and Wilma, making it a wonderful tournament. I heard that some ladies from Africa will be playing. I wonder if anybody has any more information on this.
