"Pennsylvania's Mr. Checkers"--answer

Post by Mr. Checkers »

The upcoming Pa. State Checker Tournament was established as being one of our very best and it has been for many years due to his hard work. He was a good friend and great checker player with a good sense of humor, who in his spare time put out a fine checker publication. "Checker Trivia questions of the Day"? What is the name of this famous checker personality and name of his fine checker publication? (Cont.)

Although small in stature he would delight in telling you stories about his exploits as a wrestler.

_____

I am a lifelong fan of "old style" professional wrestling.

I can't even look at the stuff that passes for professional wrestling today.

Do you happen to remember Fernie Moffett's "ring name" as a professional wrestler?

Best Wishes,

 Dennis--Fernie was full of great stories and one never knew when he was kidding or serious, so I can't really answer your question. When I talk to my friend Tony Kozenski, who knew Fernie well, I will ask about this. Please have a nice evening. "Mr. Checkers"
