I called and talked to Tony K wanted to find out how he was doing. He kinda changed the subject everytime I asked him. But he did say they ran test and everything was ok. And said he was doing a little better. I told him I wish I would of been there to help. He said dont worry about it Billy, its no big deal. Then he said something really cool he said Billy us machinist we got to stick together. That really rocked god bless the man. I just wanted to let everyone know. Billy R
Tony and I have been good friends for many years, so I know him rather well. He is a soft spoken, very quiet, caring gentlemen who lives what he beleives. The following may help in best describing his character---"No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted"--Aesop--. From the moment that I first entered Pa. (the state motto at that time was "You Have a Friend in Pennsylvania") I knew that I was in for a very special encounter--and that was confirmed the day Tony called to invite me to come up to New Castle to visit him at the Lawrence County Chess and Checker Club. That was the begining of a caring friendship that has grown over the years--and Tony's kindness was certainly never wasted on this old whiskered codger because I knew that it was sincere and came from his heart. I have visited with him a couple of times in the last week and his attitude is positive, so we will be praying for his speedy recovery and to his return across the board at next years Pa. St. Ck. Ty. If you were to travel the whole world round ten thousand times or more you would not find a more pleasant and likeable fellow than Tony Kozenski. Tony's health situation is not good and I thought that it would be nice for those of you that care and know Tony to send him a "Get Well" or "Thinking of You" card to cheer him up. Tony's address is 113 West Terrace Ave, New Castle, Pa 16102-1551. "Food for Thought". "Mr. Checkers"

Jan I talked to Tony not that long ago. He was still having very severe back problems (with a lot of pain) and the doctor that he went to could not find anything wrong, so I suggested to him to go to the Mayo Clinic for help. I will call him tonight for an update on this. I am sure that he is missing his favorite pastime--playing checkers. "Mr. Checkers"

Jan I just had a lengthy talk with Tony a few minutes ago. He had a complete physicial workup (MRI and Kat-scan etc.) recently in Pittsburgh and he will be starting physical therapy this next week. He asked about the next years Pa. St. Ck. Ty. funds and tournament, which I told him I would keep him inform of as that information becomes available. He sends his best wishes to everyone in our checker community. "Mr. Checkers"
