Packing for Plaza Hotel :-)

Post by Alan Millhone »

Hello everyone:

Beginning to get all my Checker things packed for trip West next week :-)
I will also have with me my laptop and wireless internet card to keep up with any emails that come my way while out of town.

Looking foward to seeing many familiar faces and hopefully many new ones as well.

The week-end prior will be our 3rd. Annual ACF " Arthur Niederhoffer" Youth Tournament and several new youth will be entering. My sincere thanks to Mr. Victor Niederhoffer for sponsoring this yearly event.

I am limited on what I can bring this year since traveling by plane. I will have a few sets of the better Crisloid pieces to sell and a few boards.

If any of you have anything to sell (books,,etc.) bring along as you will find a buyer.

Sincerely:
Alan Millhone, President

GAYP is a small brother of 3-moves style and I wish all my small brothers  have a good time in Las Vegas. Many thanks to Gerry Lopez for holding the 4th National tournament in the past 7 years.

My employment in PNC Bank, Pittsburgh should hit a record of 10 years in 2008 and this should give me an extra week vacation and I'll be able to play in more events.

Remember - 11-15 is the only sound move in GAYP with 9-14 backup for adventure lovers !

Respectfully,

Old Faithful

Post by Alan Millhone »

The late Tommie Wiswell always used his " Old Faithful" 11-15 and did well by doing so. 11-15 is a 'in your face' move and instantly competes for the center of the board. I wonder if some brave sould might consider 9-14 in this year's event ? Richard Hallett told me in Anderson, S.C. that 9-14 was always good for a draw. Guess that would depend who your opponent was !
