$$$,$$$ would help our game ....bring more people into it
this is true
but what kind of people might they be?
has anyone seen the jerks on world series of poker?
however i wish we had more money for prizes in our game to bring more people however as the way people are acting
we may not be ready for it
sighs if i had $$$,$$$ i would set up an interest account
similar to what we have with current monies
but i dont have it
i cant help with this
but i show up at the tournaments i can
i give that support

No, no - 6 digits is only monthly payment, don't be confuse with this !kiwinurse wrote:world champion only interested in 6 figures to play,
Your message may put sponsors in wrong directions and they may think I am OK with "one time" miserable $100,000 or $200,000. This is not even enough or close to cover all my debts which include morgage, college loan, etc.
We all have to work hard to find a right sponsors and put them in right directions ==> motnhly payment $$$,$$$ to World Champion.
Before this happened - I join with Patrick

Dear Irma, you also can try to talk to them. This will be 100% job on commissions for you. If you will be succefful, and Coca Cola gives me $10,000 - 30% will be yours (three thousand dollars).Irma Sierra wrote:u should try to talk to them
If you think it's not enough percentage for this work - let me know, and we'll work on this - maybe raise it to 40% if the sum will be $100,000 or 50% if they give $1,000,000.
In any case - it is professional job: looking for sponsors, not my field.

Corporate Sponsorship
Hola Irma:
Excellent posting and seeking a corporate sponsor has been on my list for some time. I simply don't have the time to actively find one and no one has volunteered their time to help in this search. For too many years the ACF was a 'good old boys club' and became stagnant . For many months I have had a committee working on a business plan for the ACF (which it never had) . Any organization must have a business plan in place before approaching any corporation for sponsorship. I also found someone to help put together a 'power point' presentation for the ACF in case I ever get the chance to go into a corporate board room for the ACF.
It was suggested to me earlier tonight that I consider approaching the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for sponsorship of getting a Checker program into some schools, etc. With my day job and doing a little here and there for the ACF I honestly don't have the time to approach them and fil lout all the papers they require. Any offers of help can contact me privately if you have expertise in these areas and have the time to help.
Sincerely:
Alan Millhone, President

Akex ... would the money of the sponsers not be for the ACF? You talk like the money will be paid to you, and that you can set the commission rate (findersfee).

Re: Lubabalo Kondlo
Of course money will be paid to me - Irma mentioned my name and didn't say anything about ACF. So, If ACF wants portion of money from $1,000,000 (one million dollars), they have to contact with Irma - my official agent in Mexica.jan bulstra wrote:You talk like the money will be paid to you, and that you can set the commission rate (findersfee).
By the way, Jan: if you find a sponsor for me - you also have from 20% to 30% comissions. Go ahead !
The most efficient way to get money from Bill Gates - visit Microsft site chat and wait when Bill find you and give a million dollars.

Jan, one or another way, we have at the end someone who has work to do: find sponsors. In our case - Irma
This is professional work. In USA there are promotional agencies, mostly specialize on top sportsmens and models.
However there is a light at the end of tunnel - sometimes they have deals and promote something unusual. I had contacts with few such agencies, but most of them are affraid to work on undevelop and unknown market.
Rather then spend 6-12 months to find a sponsor for me $50,000 - $100,000, they prefer to work 2-3 years with athlet where they can get contract with 7-8 digits
Noone wants to be first

Re: Lubabalo Kondlo
yes ... beautiful thoughts .. and then the alarm went off .. another day another dollar.
You want a sponsor ..? ask yourself "what is in it for them".. what do you offer that is to tempting ..

advertising
This is all very interesting it really is. There is something you guys should be aware of. When a major company uses a person or persons to promote for them its usually someone everyone would know. Alex is well liked and admired in the checker world but if he walked down the street who outside this world would know him? Coka Cola in its history of commericials and advertisements had people like Brittney Spears, Patrick Hewing. They feel like alot of companys do. Meaning big celebrity's are well known and if they drink Coka Cola or Pepsi whatever it may be then everyone will want too. I dont believe I ever seen a commercial of a chess champion or checkers champion in advertising. I am a huge fan of Alex and this is certainly not disrespect I just seen alot of people are getting to happy on what could be false hope. A sponsorship for using chairs or something maybe but this is starting to sound like its going to be a commercial and I dont know about that. Billy
