10x10 game and pp
I would like to know if in 10x10 tournaments there are any repeats of pp. I would imagine that there are very very few games (if any at all )that are repeats , rather that all games are (from the midgame at least)pure crossboard games. 10 x 10 perhaps like 3 move does provide more scope for the crossboard player, but it cannot be denied that knowledge of pp lines does give the more knowledgeable player a distinct advantage but it is perhaps only a few players that possess knowledge of all the 3 move openings most players probably start on equal footing with not much knowledge of pp .

yes there is PP in 10x10, but it's influence is limited. Only top grandmasters and ambitious masters knew more than first 8-10 moves in 6-8 debutes.
In 3-moves the role of PP is important and crucial but well balanced. You must be evenly good in both - knowledges and cross-board skills.
Remember, if you don't have good knowledges - it doesn't necessary mean you are a good cross aboard player !!! (ha-ha)
There are two ways of memorization: through regular study: paper books, electronically or analyses, and through practice. Both ways have their own points. Even if you never read a book, but played thousand a games - you are already well knowledgable, thats why such players as Lubabalo Kondlo (and other) are doing pretty well on their first appearance.
Don't forget - knowledges include not only opening phase, but also mid-phase of game (landings) and endings. Saying that someone who is good in ending has cross-board skills is incorrect.
Anyway - knowledges is just a component of cross-board skills, and I would not separate them !!! Intuition is based on experience and knowledges.
