What should we learn from this ?

My opponent didn't want to play match. I don't think this version and interpretation of situation is very fantastic

If Mr. King really wanted to play match and they have problems with sponsors / financing, etc - there are many ways to handle this properly and routinely.
In other hands - when WCDF accepted Barbados bid in the beginning of July and preferred it more than American bid in Medina - they (WCDF) didn't have anything in hands which would prove the bid - guarantee letters from banks, sponsors etc.
American bid wasn't a significant, tremendous financial deal, but it was real and included approximately $4,500 cash price + coverage of all other expenses such as transportation, accomodation and food ... totalling everything to $7,000
It seems like WCDF just trust to emails from Barbados and I still don't understand - what was the reason of such high level of trust ?

The good thing is - I can play now in KY or IL ty. Unfortunately this year they are at the same weekend

One match is over, other is on the way ! ... I mean - Kondlo vs King

For those of you who doesn't know - original goal and intention of creating WCDF was - to organize and manage properly my matches with Ron Kin !!! I am not joking.
I don't know if Lubabalo is strong enough in spirit as I am

Sincerely,
Alex

Mr.Moiseyev,
A shame it ended up like this....
I wonder what happens to the individual contributions to the prize fund....?
I, myself, made a very small contribution ($10.00), and as far as I am concerned, you should get it, and any other private donations that were made.
Will they (i.e. individual contributions to the prize fund) go towards the next scheduled defense of your 3 move championship ...?
Regards,
Jay H

Money, money, money ... :)
Hi, Jay, great question !Jay H wrote:I wonder what happens to the individual contributions to the prize fund....?

First of all - many thanks for your contribution and match support. Here is my answer (preliminary) ...
I plan to divide private contributions from Americans (and other ?) , totalling close to $2,000, in two dozen evenly. The first one would be donated to support "American bid" for 2008 3-move World Qualify Tournaments and Youth World Championship. We had it in 2004 on Barbados, in 2006 in Europe (Scotland) and I think it would be a proper and right thing to do to have it next year in USA.
The second portion of your and other money will be held for my next match. Dr. Richard Beckwith controls the whole fund and I plan to write him email about this in the next 1-2 days.
Thats my wishes.
Are you satisfy with this way, or you think there might better way to manage this fund ?
Personally, I think I don't have a moral rights to use these money, because they (money) were contributed in order to save match, and this failed.
Respectfully,
Alex Moiseyev,

Yes, some people sent me checks or made ACF store donations. (There were also unpaid pledges). For those who have paid, I propose to return money back to donor, or, if donor agrees (as Jay mentioned), apply contribution to either Alex to support his preparation efforts, or to a future event (such as the ones Alex suggested). I do wish to respect to donor's wishes, though, given this turn of events.

Way to drop the ball, WCDF. I suggested a solution to a few of my peers and their response was neither here or there:Alex_Moiseyev wrote: In other hands - when WCDF accepted Barbados bid in the beginning of July and preferred it more than American bid in Medina - they (WCDF) didn't have anything in hands which would prove the bid - guarantee letters from banks, sponsors etc.

How about we go back to the system that worked for years prior to 2002? The winner of the U.S. National plays the winner of the British Open and the winner of that match plays the world champion.
I suggest we give that system another try.

Re: Pool about WCM 2007.
Works for me. I probably little bit jumped on solution being overemotional with all this development. Today I had over 15 emails from WCDF authorities and other people, related to match, rich beckwith wrote:I do wish to respect to donor's wishes, though, given this turn of events.
The original donors intention was - to build American bid for 3-moves WCM 2007, and this was done successfully. The second intention - secure match - failed.
Any donors are welcome to make decision. If any part of fund will remain - I plan to cover first contribution to US WQT 2008, and hold rest (if any) for my next match.

To any who may be able to answer this question,
Has the match "officially" been cancelled or called off ?

Jay, for official announcement you (and other) have to wait few more hours or 1-2 days, because such important "life decisions" are going though full WCDF Board approval.
As soon as an official announcement (whatever) will be done through email - it will be posted on ACF website.

Well, give the WCDF a bit of time to consider the facts and to communicate officially with both participants, the organizers and the appointed refree.
Obviously the match cannot take place as it was negotiated.
And it is not the fault of the title holder that this happend plus it is not much time left for the match to be arranged in 2007.
Just like Jim Morrison last year, Ron King is now in a uncomfortable position, having to wait for a chance for the title match.

Its pretty well known that Alex has a full calender of events from now till end of 2007,and considering his time off work it cant possibly happen this yr.
Is there a window of opportunity for Bagtiyar Durdyev who was runner-up in British Open to fill the space.

Re: Pool about WCM 2007.
Ingo, they (WCDF) already did this today earlier in the morning and afternoon. The case now is close to the final voting and Board review / approval.Ingo_Zachos wrote:give the WCDF a bit of time to consider the facts and to communicate officially with both participants, the organizers and the appointed referee.
I'll be happy to play match with Bagtiyar as runner up or anyone else, but in this case it cannot be done earlier then winter / spring 2008.tommyc wrote:Is there a window of opportunity for Bagtiyar Durdyev who was runner-up in British Open to fill the space.

One would have to be realistic and say that there would be "no confidence " in any proposed match again in Barbados.??
