Thanks, Hugh !

For everyone - the case not completely close yet, but lost it's emergency, urgent status. The most exciting and surprising thing I learned - my coats with John Reade look not only very similar, but extremely close in size, though my weight and height are a little bit higher

Sincerely,

Alex

3 bizarre things happened to me yesterday.

1. Alex took my coat by mistake when he left Buncrana to catch his flight to USA. It has my passport and house keys in various pockets. Luckily not my mobile phone as that was being charged up.

2. I had a problem boarding my plane home at Derry even though Derry is in the UK. After about half an hour they accepted my library card from Manchester University as proof of identification.

3. When the plane landed in Liverpool it hit the ground and immediately took off again. The pilot managed to land the plane safely on the second attempt.

4. My luggage never appeared on the conveyor belt at Liverpool Airport. I still haven't got it back.

Sorry, that's 4 things!

If a 2007 Irish Open book materializes the story of this incident should be included, "What happened to John Read's Coat?" will make a great trivia question in years to come.

Mr. Reade do you have Alex's coat? If not, I think you should get your hands on it, then sell it on eBay, the auction title could read "WORLD DRAUGHTS CHAMPION'S COAT LOST AND FOUND - NOW FOR SALE!" Should bring a good price! Or keep it and add it to your collection of Draughts memorabilia it will make a great souvenir of your trip to Buncrana and participation in the "Inishowen International Festival of Draughts". It all sound fair to me, I say it's an even trade as long as Alex will give you one set of keys and a slightly used passport to boot.

BTW: (A message for my good friend Alex.)

Alex, please keep in mind, should someone call you a thief.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.

Should this go to trial, I will do my best to defend you buddy!

And also CONGRATULATIONS on your WIN, I'm sure that you will long remember this victory and your participation in this special event.

Best Regards, "Pal" Bucker

I left Alex's coat at Hugh's house. Hugh lent me one of his coats to wear on the way home. So we have each of us gained a coat and lost a coat.
