JohnAcker wrote:Yes, Eric, I'm familiar with your website. But talking about "supporting checkers" is much different from actually supporting the ACF, which is what I'm talking about. All I've seen from you on that end is criticism and demonstrated ignorance of ACF rules and policy. If I've "misread" that, enlighten me.
And Tommy, stay out of this.
Sigh,
Supporting checkers is much different from supporting the AMERICAN CHECKERS FEDERATION!!! are u serious or did you just run out of things to argue? So far I think you have misread everything... so go ahead and start over again. Josh, Alex, and Tommy, I want to thank you guys for your support in my ideas. Also once I create my very own checkers play site I will more than likely do something like in yahoo... where they have "ALLSTARS" which bring with them added benefits and things of that sort. My "ALLSTARS" will be to symbolize the ACF members and hopefully have not only standard play site rating but show their ACF rating with it. That will motivate more players who play online to join the ACF. This is just one of hundreds of my ideas to try and make things better. I'd like to be done arguing with you John... your just turning this childish and it's boring me now. GG
On another note I just read what Josh wrote about making checkers a more professional atmosphere etc. etc etc.
Checkers has an advantage over most games in this society and I believe poker had the same type of advantage. What is checkers considered today if you ask some random 25 year old off the street??? "Checkers?? that games an easy kids game."
Just for giggles... what if we did publicly advertise a checkers tournament offering big money?? How many people are going to say... "Checkers... that games easy. I used to beat people all the time when I was kid. I bet I can win this." Everyone in this society is always looking for the quick easy money and I don't think its far fetches to say we'd receive a great show. Now of course lots of people would be disappointed by finding out that the rules are indeed easy but the game is not. The people that are competitive by nature just like every checkers player I know. Will get hooked to this game very quickly. Same sort of thing happened to me when I first started playing. I got the internet when I was around 11 or 12 and my Dad showed me Yahoo games. I looked for a game that I might be interested in playing for a few minutes... something easy that i could go in and beat everyone... I saw checkers and decided that was the winner. I have played religiously ever since.
Anyways, have a great tournament everyone.
