what i said to Joe was a bit of an explanation of my original post here....

all it said in summary was that if the ACF was going to associate itself with a playing site, the aforementioned playing site should foster a family environment and that in my opinion Eric and his cohorts were not up to the task of hosting a site without swearing etc etc.... therefore i wish them luck but in my opinion the ACF should do its own site and be careful of associating its name to such site.

i am not against the idea....

you want to get offended and start calling names, so be it, but i have not stated anything other than the truth, not my opinion, the truth. if i was wrong there would be more ACF players on that website.

do you see what this topic was originally about assistance with a new checkers site which will have better options, better control, and would benefit the ACF.

I would reall like the idea of having a website where real checkers players could play, with no intromission of "internet players" in a "special" room so we wouldn't be bothered with their horrible lack of education and respect they have, the point here is: how will you control that?, if many "real players" make a donation, will those donation be guaranteed that logging in into the site won't have stupid advertisments with porno sites "dating", etc?..will be a familiar site?...how can we be sure?...can u explain all to us?

I am a neutral party to all this. I don't know anyone here personally. But we should put aside personal dislikes and what ever personal issues we have with one another. Personal issues and dislikes can be discussed in private between the two conflicting parties. There is no need to try to "win" the argument as its not going to end anytime soon. Let me remind all of you, this forum is meant to be for the benefit of the game of Checkers. I come to read about the game and end up reading arguments.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to give you all an update on the current progress of the website. I got a wonderful response a few months ago when I asked for donations. I am doing my very best to grow checkers and give you all everything you could want from a checkers site and greatly appreciate your support.

We are working on a new sleek design for the entire website, Iphone and Android apps, as well as the java applet with a working thin client. The thin client will allow people to get full functionality out of the applet from cellular phones that do not support java. The iphone and android apps may turn out to be the bread and butter on this project. Why? Because checkers is one of the most downloaded apps on Cellular phones. By advertising the full applet I am hoping to bring these "for fun" players into the "competitive" realm of checkers.

So here is the status of all of this as of March 5th 2012. The applet is functional as far a creating usernames, loggin in, joining tables, playing games with a timer, and chatting. We are still working on archiving games played, large stats pages, tournaments, and rating. The main parts are complete though. Everything else is just features which will take more time to complete and fix all bugs. I apologize for the wait on this but I want everything to be perfect before it is released. I will not settle for mediocre.

The iphone app is being worked on and I believe is 75% done. The android app has not been started on. I am still finding a good android coder and getting quotes. The new design has finally been identified after months of trying to find something I was happy with. We are working on implementing the design into http://icheckers.net right now. This will take some time but I plan to roll everything out all at once.
