 Palomino--Becky and I visited Cracker Barrel this past Mother's Day for dinner. While we were there a game of checkers was being played by the father against his young sons. To my amazement none of the young boys knew how to play checkers at all (and they were in grade school)--and their grandfather was coaching them how to play. So the message that I received from that observation was that we can not assume that our younger generation is even being exposed to checkers, let alone knows how to play the game, which is a real shame. Mr. Checkers
