Every so often one of the checker books I thought I had lost shows up in a corner of the house. And often the book has notations by some (probably long gone) checker player. I just found a copy of Doran's Old 14th with extensive notations by one Joseph W. Pechek. Is the name familiar to anybody?
Also, have any of you come across (in a used book store, for example) a checker book with hand annotations by somebody you knew or had heard of?
Notations on the margins

Greetings Pedro Saavedra,
Why don't you scan and post it in one of the "history of a book..." threads in the
"Checker Sharing" board
Here are links directly to them...
Takes a few seconds to load, but it will get you there.

I do not have access to a scanner. In the 1970s, by the way, I came across many such books. I even found in used book stores handwritten notebooks of notations on checker openings. But recall that I was away from checkers for twenty-some years, and gave away or lost many of those books. There is hope. There is an area of the house not accessible because my youngest daughter has her bed and 25 other things blocking the way. In September she is moving out, and I may be able to look in that area. I am hoping that some box is still there.
