Ilearned today that Dave Butler, who I believe has done ratings for ACF since its inception, can no longer continue in any role due to some family matters consuming all his time. This is probably why we have not had an update for several months now. I thank Dave for his many years of service to us.
At this point, we currently do not have a ratings processor. Are there any volunteers out there who have the knowledge to start a new ratings system for ACF? This can either be a one-time task (provided a successor is trained for ongoing use) or an ongoing appointed ACF position. The formula used by ACF historically appears on the rating page, although I am open to considering an alternate calculation if there is benefit. I have never personally done the calculation aspect, but understand it can be done by spreadsheet. I no longer have time to play a major role with the ratings, but am available to answer general questions as they arise. This could also be a two-person job. For example, in 2007 Patrick Parker typed up the cross-tables in the proper format, Dave Butler performed the calculation, and I uploaded results onto this site. Patrick will kindly continue to assist in this process. I am just looking for someone with the technical expertise to get things started.
In the event there is no volunteer interest, we will retire ACF ratings, esp. now that there is a WCDF ratings entity.

Rich, 3-4 years ago Clayton Nash really wanted and was dreaming to do this work and planned to start a new system. I don't know if today his enthusiasm and intention are at the same level, but i would recommend you to contact with him on this matter. If I am not mistaken, the system which he wanted to adopt for ACF was a classic ELO with few adjustments.
Clay, if you read this - you may response here or in email and answer on Rich questions and correct me if something is inaccurate.

Re: ACF ratings / need new ratings processor
Clayton is still suggesting an ELO system, and he may be willing to help with the processing on an ongoing basis. However, neither Clayton, Patrick, or myself feel comfortable at starting this from scratch on our own and would prefer being shown what to do by someone with the expertise. On another topic, I believe we will have a WCDF ratings update soon.
