Illinois Players

I'm located in Chicago/Darien, and was trying to get an idea of who lives out here. So far, Im aware of all the Ellisons, Byron Polanco out in West Chicago(no contact info known), and Nathan Gogo, who has been elusive to any attempts to contact. I just want to see how many more I'm missing, and if they live close by, perhaps set up some friendly games. Thanks

I lived in Chicago in the 1970s. Most of the players I knew back then (William Stacy, Marvin Katz, and a colorful chap that went by the nickname of "Papa Yiddish") were older than myself, and I suspect most have laid down their trophies. One place where I picked up games every so often was the Chess Pavillion by Lake Shore Dr. at North. I would go, prepared to play chess if nobody showed up. but I also would set a checker set in a plastic bag next to my board. I picked up a number of games, straight and pool, some with beginners, but some with decent players.

Hi, I'm pretty sure I replied to your e-mail, unless that was someone else.

I don't really play Checkers much only on kurnik sometimes. I could play with you if you want but i'd like to wait until my school is over because i've been very busy lately with ACT coming up this week and just the whole college process.

My dad lives in Bolingbrook so I go there basically every week which is right next to Darien I believe, so I drive through there sometimes, and I know some people in Darien as well.
