What do you like about checkers?: I enjoy learning more and more as i go. despite its alleged simplicity the game is incredibly complex and rewarding.

Go Mark, go!!!!

Post by Danny_Alvarez »

I am watching the second qualifying session and Mark Webber is second at the moment. His team mate Vettel is in front. I cannot wait till sunday when Mark can win the whole thing.
we will see how it all unfolds, if he wins it will be the first australian to do so since Alan Jones in 1980.

Indeed. But now, not only Vettel but also Hamilton, Alonso, and Button are in front of him... .

Could be a difficult race for the lad; Alonso especially is fast, tenacious and ruthless (but aren't they all?).

It's been an exciting and competitive season to say the least.

Ah, well, Vettel won and is the World Champion....the youngest in the history of F1.

I think Fangio was forty-five or so when he won the last of his five world champioships... .

Ancient history now, of course, but still... .

Different world, eh?

He had his worst race in the last one.... very dissapointing as these chances don't come around often.

Australia also missed out on getting hosting rights to the 2022 world cup for soccer..... not a great sporting year so far considering we are getting pummeled by the poms in the Ashes series at home as well.

oh, the pain!!!!! hahaha
Cheers

Now that's a surprise...you Aussies play hardcore cricket...fast and violent (violent within the context of the game, I mean; very powerful and forcing stuff...). Your fast bowlers in particular used to be pretty scary (but, then, all fast bowlers are scary by nature...).

Haven't followed the game recently, much to my regret.

we have a team in transition .... going from the best team ever to a pretty sad sight.... it has been hard to find replacements for Matthew Hayden, Shane Warne, Mark Waugh, Steve Waugh..... they were all top notch. I am not sure i would be able to withstand an ashes loss at home.... it has never happened in my lifetime yet.

cheers

Um, well, yes, try bodyline bowling and, oh, yeah, bring back Donald Bradman (or someone like him; except there isn't ever gonna be someone like him...he's like Stirling Moss: incomparable).

That's, of course, Sir Donald Bradman and Sir Stirling Moss.

There you have it.

Cheers indeed.

In the end we lost 3-1 and i have to say i was impressed with England, specially on the first and last matches.
Oz cricket will have to drag itself out of the doldrums it is in now.... it will not be easy .

cheers
