Year that ACF ratings began

I have been a member of the ACF for the most part since the late 70's.
I can't remember the year that the ACF began the ratings system.
Can someone remember that year. I want to pull old bulletins out to become better
aquainted with all the reasoning back then.

Checkers Ratings were introduced in ACFB #132 December 1974.
In 1991 Dr Tinsley had reached an astonishing rating of 2812.
