Proposed 2013 North Dakota State Checker Tournamentt

It looks like I will be moving to Fargo, ND some time in 2013. If this comes about I would like to hold a checker tournament in the Fargo area. This topic is being opened to see if I can find out many checker players there might be who would be willing to attend such an event. I am especailly searching for checker players in ND, SD, and MN but of course the event would be open to any players who would like to come. I propose a two day event on a Friday and a Saturday. There would be 8 rounds of play, four on Friday and four on Saturday. First on the agenda is seeing if there would be enough players to hold such an event.

Some of those who have played in ND checker tournaments in past years and might still be alive someplace are: Larry Atwood Minot, Kirk Hanson Fargo, Mark Hanson Fargo, Daniel Haag Fargo, Mark Menizie Fargo, Dean Neal whereever, Tim Durkop whereever, Olig Brovin Wherever, Joe Boucher Wherever, Ed Ennis ND, Rodney Kenny ND, Chuck Brooks ND, Glen Proechel MN, Bill Wethington MO, Ken Wold SD. Others who might be interested in such a tourney if still alive are: Happy Wiedman SD, Walter Nonnemacher New Umn MN, Mark Buckentin MN, Gary Hinerman MO, Paul Lay IA, Arden Wilson IA, Cris Weiland MO, Irving Wolfe MAN, Jacob Janzen MAN, Ken Nichol MAN. If anyone knows any of the above indivuals let them know a ND checker tournament is being proposed for 2013.

John, Larry Atwood is the only one I know of who resides in ND, MN, SD. Hopefully I can get other players from those states to to come on this site for discussion purposes, so if anyone knows players from those states please let them know about usacheckers.com and the catagories thereon. THX
