The Checker Maven reaches ten years of weekly publication this week! Who would ever have believed it?
There are still a few thousand readers, too.
I had originally planned to stop here, but I'll keep going as long as I can. Continuing eyesight issues make it much more difficult than it used to be, but it's too much fun to quit.
Thanks to everyone for supporting my column for all these years.
10 years of Checker Maven

Thanks Bob for what you do and congratulations on reaching this 10 year milestone. Saturdays are always a bit more special because of The Checker Maven, I love it.

Thanks everyone for your comments and support.
I think George hit it on the head. My writing in The Checker Maven reflects my being an unabashed, unapologetic American patriot. Of course, I respect and appreciate other nations and cultures--- after all, my wife is Asian and I am conversant with a number of European, Asian, and Middle Eastern languages, besides my native English--- but I take pride in America and am not reluctant to say so!
