"1860's Enameled Wooden Checkers"--answer
One of the most beautiful sets of wooden checkers that you will ever want to see are those put out by the Embossing Co. in the 1860's. These lovely Enameled Wooden Checkers will command your attention as will the art work on the checker boxes in which they came. "Checker Trivia question of the Day". What beautiful design is embossed on each checker? (Cont.)

That might be a star or a crown or a snow flake.

Many years ago our friend Paul Schreck (MCA member) sent us a beautiful set of wooden checkers (in a dovetailed wooden box) from the mid-1800's. They had a lovely designed embossed on them--"floral corolla", which is like a flower. We were so impressed with this gift that from that time on we have collected hundreds of other fine checker sets. (Cont.)
