Alex's new book

Post by steve »

I just received Alex's new book ''Sixth'' and even though I am still a class B player ( after playing for 50 years) I found it contains the best 3 move annotated games ever published. I think it's a must buy for anyone who wants to improve his or her game. steve holliday

Alex, I received your book in the mail yesterday. All that I can say is FANTASTIC!! I hope that this starts a tradition for all future World Champions. In the past it seems that all we heard from the World Champion was in another authors book in the form of annotated games from the champion. Thank you!!

Express comments on SIXTH from an average player

Post by Alan Millhone »

Hello everyone:

I spent an hour tonight pouring over Mr. Alex's book SIXTH. There is something for everyone in his book. The extensive use of diagrams and annotations and proverbs and first person thoughts make it a book that will enable any class of player to utilize.

Any page you open is a new adventure into our game. You will learn the 'dos and donts' of many of his moves and the book is full of strategy and themes that arise in many games. From openings to endings and many familiar landings you will find well covered as you read thur the many pages.

SIXTH is expertly bound and in a solid hardbound covering. As a collector and player I budgeted for a 'bonus' copy and a regular copy to use as I study. I simply decided to skip some large pizzas and before I knew it had the funds to buy both books:-) Mr. Alex gave my my copies this past week-end in Grove City, Pa.

In all seriousness this a book that you must have to improve your game.
Next week-end our "Arthur Niederhoffer Youth Tournament" begins and then on Monday the week long " Edward Bruch 3-Move Nationals" begins. Mr. Alex will have a supply of SIXTH on hand during the week for those attending that desire their own copy. I 'tip' my hat to our 3-Move World Champion for devoting a couple of years of his life to make this book a reality for the Checker/Draughts fraternity!!

Sincerely:
